Obverse description Central field dominated by the elaborate tughra (imperial monogram) of Sultan Mahmud II, rendered in the traditional calligraphic style with its characteristic looped and hatched staves rising above a horizontal baseline. Below the tughra, the Hijri accession year ١٢٢٣ (1223 AH) is inscribed in Arabic numerals. The design is contained within a plain inner circle, with a reeded border visible at the periphery.

Reverse description The reverse features multiple horizontal registers of Arabic calligraphic text enclosed within cartouches, referencing the sultan's titles, the mint, the regnal year, and the denomination. The uppermost register bears the mint name, followed by lines recording the reign year and value in formal Ottoman script. The composition is arranged in a stacked, panel-like format typical of Ottoman silver coinage of this period, enclosed within a beaded or plain inner border.
