Obverse description The obverse is framed by a typographically-printed rectangular border with cross-hatched corner columns and decorative lateral rules. Three circular vignettes appear along the upper edge: an oval stamp at upper left inscribed 'REPUBLICA ROMANA', a central medallion with a spread eagle, and a third oval at upper right with a standing female allegorical figure. The denomination 'Pᵒ DIECI' and the issuing authority 'MONTE DI PIETÀ' are set in bold letterpress type at centre. Manuscript text in Italian script records the payment obligation dated 1798, with two manuscript signatures at the lower portion.
