| Obverse description | The Ashoka Lion Capital, the national emblem of India, is depicted in high relief at the center of the field, showing three of the four lions mounted back-to-back atop an abacus bearing the Dharma Chakra (wheel) flanked by a horse and a bull in low relief. The legend reads in Devanagari script to the left and in Latin script to the right, together forming the bilingual inscription 'BHARAT INDIA' curving along the scalloped border. A beaded inner border frames the design, following the contour of the eight-lobed scalloped flan. |

| Reverse description | The denomination numeral '10' appears prominently in the center of the field, with the value inscription in Devanagari reading 'रुपये का दसवाँ भाग' (tenth of a rupee) above and 'दस पैसे' (ten paise) below the numeral. The date is inscribed at the bottom of the field. A beaded inner border follows the scalloped outline of the flan. Mint marks, where present, appear below the date: a small dot or diamond for Mumbai circulation issues, the letter 'B' for Mumbai proof issues, a five-pointed star for Hyderabad Mint issues, and no mark for Calcutta Mint issues. |
