| Reverse description | Large unshaded numeral '10' occupies the center of the field, enclosed within a decorative cartouche with flanking ornamental scroll devices to either side. The legend 'Shri Bhavani' in Devanagari script is inscribed along the upper arc, while the denomination in Devanagari words 'Das Paisa' (ten paisa) curves along the lower periphery. Mahendra's reign saw Nepal shift from the democratic experiment of the 1950s to his 1960 royal coup, which dissolved parliament and imprisoned B.P. Koirala. These bronze 10 Paisa pieces were struck entirely under the Panchayat system — the partyless political order Mahendra imposed and controlled directly from the throne until his death in 1972.
