| Obverse description | The crowned royal arms of Tonga are rendered in high relief at the centre of the field, enclosed within a raised inner circle. The shield displays the national emblems including a central cross, and is supported by elaborate scrollwork and foliate mantling surmounted by a royal crown flanked by olive branches. The legend KINGDOM OF TONGA arcs along the upper periphery, while the date 2003 appears in the lower exergue, flanked by two small pellets. |
