Pick 34 carries three distinct signature combinations, reflecting the revolving cast of officials who held the relevant posts at the National Reserve Bank through the mid-to-late 1990s. Baron Vaea von Houma served as Prime Minister of Tonga from 1991 to 2000, so his appearance on banknotes of this period is consistent — his co-signatories changed as the bank's senior staff turned over.

Tonga's currency has been pegged to a basket of foreign currencies since the mid-1970s, and De La Rue has supplied the kingdom's notes for decades, making this a thoroughly routine production run — the signature variants are the only meaningful differentiator between specimens within the series.
