Obverse description The royal emblem of Bhutan — a circular vignette with two dragons flanking a vajra cross — is positioned at the left, set against a fine guilloche underprint in pink and blue tones. At right, an intaglio portrait of King Jigme Singye Wangchuck in traditional ceremonial headgear is rendered within a circular frame. A single signature and the issuing legend appear in the centre, with Dzongkha script inscriptions running along the lower margin.
Obverse lettering Bank of Bhutan
Reverse description A detailed intaglio vignette of Paro Dzong occupies the central field, rendered in fine line engraving and showing the fortress-monastery set on a hillside with its characteristic tiered architecture, surrounding walls, and a covered bridge structure at lower left. The denomination "TEN NGULTRUM" appears in Roman letters at lower left, accompanied by a Dzongkha script equivalent, while the caption "PARO DZONG" is inscribed at lower right. Ornate scrollwork borders frame all four corners.
