Part of Israel's long-running Olympic sports commemorative series, this piece was issued ahead of the Athens Games. Israel's windsurfing program had genuine credibility by that point — Gal Fridman had taken bronze in Sydney four years earlier, and anticipation for Athens was well founded. He won gold there, making him Israel's first-ever Olympic champion.
