Obverse description The obverse features a large stylized numeral '10' dominating the field, rendered in bold geometric relief with vertical striped detailing on the left element and a smooth circular disc at right, within which the State of Israel coat of arms — a menorah flanked by olive branches above the legend 'ישראל' — appears centrally embossed. A trilingual legend arcs along the upper periphery reading 'ישראל ISRAEL إسرائيل' followed by the Hebrew year 'התשמ"ט' and the Gregorian year '1989'. Along the lower border, the denomination legend 'שקלים חדשים NEW SHEQALIM' is inscribed in Hebrew and Latin script. A small mint mark appears at the lower left of the field.
