Additional information

Issued to mark Israel's 62nd Independence Day, this coin commemorates the Israel National Trail — a continuous footpath running approximately 1,000 kilometers from Dan in the north to Eilat in the south. The trail was developed through the 1990s largely through the efforts of volunteer hiking organizations and was formally completed in 1995. It has since become one of the few long-distance trails in the world that traverses nearly the entire length of a country.

KM#473 is part of a long-running Bank of Israel commemorative program tying Independence Day issues to landmarks of national identity. The .917 gold composition with silver and copper alloy is consistent with the series' bullion-adjacent collector positioning.
