Issued in response to the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack — the deadliest single day for Jewish people since the Holocaust — this coin was authorized by the Bank of Israel during active wartime, an uncommon circumstance for a commemorative gold program. The "Israel Stands Together" theme reflects the domestic solidarity campaign that emerged in the months following the attack, when civilian volunteer networks mobilized on a scale not seen since the 1973 Yom Kippur War.
