Israel's 70th independence anniversary in 2018 generated an extensive commemorative program across multiple denominations and metals. The gold issues in this program were struck by the Bern-based Swissmint under contract — the Bank of Israel has long relied on foreign minting partners, as Israel has no domestic precious-metal striking facility capable of producing proof coinage at scale.
