Indonesia's 1949 10 New Sen belongs to the emergency currency issued by the Republican government during the Dutch military actions — a period when the Republic operated a parallel monetary system from its interior strongholds in Java while the Dutch administered coastal and urban areas. These notes circulated under genuinely contested sovereignty, not as peacetime administrative currency.
