Reverse description A crowned lion passant guardant occupies the centre of the reverse field, rendered in bold relief after the design by Christopher Ironside. The lion wears St. Edward's Crown and is depicted striding to the left with its tail curling upward. The denomination numeral 10 appears in large figures in the lower field beneath the lion, while the legend NEW PENCE arcs around the upper portion of the field.
