The "9th Print" designation within this series reflects Brazil's reliance on the Casa da Moeda for successive domestic print runs as demand fluctuated in the years following the monetary instability of the 1890s Encilhamento crisis. Georges Duval's design and Huyot's engraving were retained across multiple impressions — an economy of means common to the Thesouro Nacional issues of this period, where new plates were cut but the compositional template held firm.

Huyot was among the more accomplished intaglio engravers working on Brazilian fiscal paper at the turn of the century, and the quality differential between his work and later domestic re-engravings is detectable under magnification.
