Obverse description Striking close-up portrait of President Juho Kusti Paasikivi rendered in bold high relief, depicting his face nearly filling the entire obverse field, wearing his characteristic round-framed spectacles. The effigy is presented in a frontal aspect with fine sculptural detail capturing the subject's aged features and characteristic expression. To the left of the portrait appears Paasikivi's facsimile signature, while along the right rim his birth and death dates, 1870-1956, are inscribed vertically in Latin script. The mint mark S appears at the lower left of the field. The design, the work of engraver Heikki Häiväoja, exemplifies the bold modernist portrait style characteristic of Finnish commemorative coinage of the era.

Reverse description The reverse features a bold modernist typographic design with the denomination and country name arranged in horizontal bands across a textured, rocky field evoking the Finnish landscape. The numeral '10' appears prominently to the left, alongside the inscription 'MARKKAA' in a rectangular panel. Below, the bilingual country name 'SUOMI' and 'FINLAND' are displayed in separate registers, each set against a similarly textured relief background. The date '1970' is inscribed along the upper rim. The overall composition reflects the distinctive graphic design aesthetic of Finnish commemorative issues of the period.
