Obverse description Central device features the Imperial Russian double-headed eagle displayed, each head surmounted by a crown and the whole ensemble topped by a larger imperial crown above. The eagle's dexter talon holds a sceptre and the sinister talon holds an orb surmounted by a cross. On the breast of the eagle is a shield bearing the Finnish lion. The mintmaster's initial 'L' appears below the eagle at the base of the design, flanked by a rosette mint mark. The legend FINLAND to the left and SUOMI to the right curves along the inner border, with a beaded rim encircling the entire field.
