Reverse description Three female athletes rendered in a stylised, classical relief stride dynamically to the left across the central field, depicted in the nude in a manner recalling Socialist Realist athletic iconography. The figures are shown mid-stride in a running sequence, conveying motion and athletic vigour. Below the figures, the two-line inscription DDR SPORT above 1948-1988 appears in the lower field, commemorating the fortieth anniversary of organised sport in the GDR.
