| Obverse description | The elaborate heraldic arms of Hamburg occupy the center of the field, depicting a fortified white castle with three towers on a red ground, flanked by two rampant lions acting as supporters. Above the shield, a radiant sun bursts forth between the lions' heads, lending the composition a distinctive baroque character. The entire device is rendered in fine relief against a smooth field. The encircling legend reads FREIE UND HANSESTADT HAMBURG, with the Hamburg mint mark J appearing below the shield near the base. |

| Reverse description | A crowned imperial eagle with spread wings dominates the field, its breast bearing the imperial orb. The denomination 10 MARK appears in the lower exergual area, flanked on either side by a six-pointed star. The encircling legend DEUTSCHES REICH arcs around the upper periphery, with the date of issue completing the legend along the lower arc between the stars. The design follows the standard Imperial German type common to all German states during the Kaiserreich period. |
