Yugoslavia's fuel coupons of 1995 circulated during one of the worst hyperinflationary collapses in recorded history — the dinar had effectively ceased to function as a medium of exchange by early 1994, and rationing instruments like this one briefly substituted for currency in certain transactions. The coupon system was tied to state-controlled fuel distribution under UN sanctions, which had severely constrained petroleum imports since 1992.

These coupons were issued by the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SR Jugoslavija), the rump state formed in 1992 after the dissolution of the SFRY. Survival rates vary — many were redeemed and discarded at the pump.
