| Obverse description | The three towers of Mount Titano — the iconic fortifications of San Marino — depicted in high relief at center, rising above a crenellated stone wall. The word PROVA appears in the upper field within the beaded inner circle. The circular legend RESPUBLICA S. MARINI runs along the outer rim, with the date 1925 and mint mark R positioned in the lower exergual area. The overall design is bold and heraldic in character. |

| Additional information |
San Marino struck gold coinage under an 1897 convention with Italy that allowed the republic to mint its own pieces on Italian planchets to Italian specifications. The 1925 10 Lire exists only as a prova — a pattern or trial piece submitted for official approval — and was never released for circulation. Montenegro lists it as exceedingly rare, with surviving examples numbering in the single digits.
