Obverse description Central depiction of the three towers of San Marino — Guaita, Cesta, and Montale — rising from their rocky promontory, each surmounted by an ostrich-feather plume, rendered in fine relief. The legend REPUBBLICA DI SAN MARINO curves along the upper periphery, while the motto LIBERTAS appears in the lower field. The date 1991 is inscribed to the left of the towers in the central field.

Reverse description The large denomination numeral '10' dominates the upper field, accompanied by the currency abbreviation 'L.' to the right. In the lower portion of the field, a hand extends from the left holding a miniature crenellated tower, a reference to the historic castles of San Marino. The inscription I CASTELLI appears to the left of the tower motif, with the historic date 1463 below. The Rome mint mark 'R' is positioned to the left of the numeral, and the engravers' names APARICIO PERNAZZA appear along the lower rim.
