| Additional information |
Vasile Pârvan founded the Romanian School in Rome in 1921 and spent the following years directing excavations at Histria, the ancient Greek colony on the Black Sea coast — work that effectively established Romanian archaeology as a modern discipline. He died in 1927 at 44, leaving his landmark synthesis Getica unfinished. This issue marks the centenary of that Rome institution.
