| Reverse description | Incuse rectangular border encloses four large Chữ Hán characters arranged vertically, reading 皇金十兩 (Hoàng Kim Thập Lượng, meaning 'Imperial Gold Ten Lang'), with a smaller subsidiary character at the lower right indicating the fineness standard (九, Cửu, meaning 'nine', denoting .900 fine gold). The bold, deeply incised calligraphic inscriptions are cast into the textured gold surface. The reverse field, like the obverse, shows the rough, slightly pitted surface typical of cast Vietnamese imperial gold currency. The overall composition is austere and functional, consistent with Nguyễn dynasty monetary practice. |
