Reverse description A spread-winged fish eagle, the national symbol of Malawi, is depicted centrally against a radiant sun with stylized rays emanating from behind the bird. The legend RESERVE BANK OF MALAWI arcs around the upper periphery, while the denomination 10 KWACHA and the commemorative inscription 10TH ANNIVERSARY · 1965-1975 appear in the lower field and exergual area, marking the tenth anniversary of the Reserve Bank of Malawi's establishment. The design combines heraldic and naturalistic elements in a classic commemorative medallic composition.
