Malawi's wildlife coin program, launched in the late 2000s, targeted the international collector market almost exclusively — these pieces saw no domestic circulation and were never intended to. The blue poison dart frog (Dendrobates tinctorius azureus) is not native to Malawi, which says everything about the series' priorities.
