Comments

Estonia reintroduced the kroon in June 1992 as part of its rapid post-Soviet monetary reform, pegging it to the Deutsche Mark at 8:1 — one of the more disciplined currency relaunches of the early 1990s. The first kroon series was printed under considerable urgency; this 1994 note belongs to the stabilized second wave, produced by De La Rue at their Gateshead facility once the immediate pressures of reissuance had passed.

De La Rue's Gateshead plant handled a significant volume of newly independent states' currencies through the 1990s. Nothing anomalous is documented for this particular issue.
