Replacement notes — issued to substitute for defective or destroyed sheets during production — are typically scarce relative to the regular series, and this run is no exception. The extended date range across nearly a decade reflects the post-occupation rebuilding of Norwegian note production rather than sustained high-volume replacement printing; Norges Bank's own printing works had only recently resumed full domestic operations after the German occupation ended in 1945.
The proliferation of prefix letters and the split between "Meldahl-Nielsen" and "G. Meldahl Nielsen" signature styles across the 1945–1946 issues is a known cataloguing nuance — same signatory, inconsistent rendering. Collectors tracking complete prefix runs will find the earlier prefixes, particularly A through D with the 1945 date, considerably harder to source than the later Thorp-signed material.
