Additional information

Pattern coins from Den Kongelige Mynt in this period were produced in extremely limited numbers for internal review and governmental approval, rarely leaving official channels. Most Norwegian patterns from the 1960s exist in single-digit quantities, with the majority held in the Norges Bank collection or the mint's own archive.

The 10 Kroner denomination was under active consideration throughout the early 1960s as Norway debated expanding its circulating silver coinage. This piece predates the circulating 10 Kroner series that ultimately launched in 1964 — placing it squarely in the approval process that determined what Norwegians would actually handle.
