Additional information

Denmark's 10-krone aluminium bronze series has cycled through multiple portrait updates as official policy rather than any constitutional requirement — the Royal Danish Mint periodically commissions new effigies to reflect the sovereign's age. This fifth portrait of Margrethe II, introduced in 2011, was sculpted by Mogens Møller, who had by then become the dominant portrait engraver for Danish circulation coinage.

Production ran only through 2012 before the type was superseded, keeping total mintage figures modest relative to earlier portrait issues in the same denomination.
