Ferdinand II governed Tyrol as a semi-autonomous archduke from 1564 until his death in 1595, operating his own mint at Mühlau near Innsbruck largely independent of the main Habsburg minting apparatus in Vienna. The Mühlau facility was established specifically to serve Tyrolean regional commerce, and the 10 Kreuzer denomination filled a practical gap between the small copper pfennig coinage and the larger silver Taler that dominated long-distance trade.
MT#191-192 and MT#195 represent distinct die varieties within this six-year window — small differences in lettering and armorial arrangement that Mühlau's engravers introduced without altering the fundamental type.
