| Obverse description | Draped bust of Elector Charles Theodore facing right, with flowing hair tied at the nape, set within a beaded border. The circumferential Latin legend reads D:G.CAR.THEODOR.C.P.R.S.R.I.A.T.&.EL., identifying the ruler by the grace of God as Count Palatine of the Rhine, Arch-Treasurer and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire. The portrait is rendered in a restrained late-Baroque style with fine detail in the drapery and facial features. A date element appears within the legend field at lower right. |
