| Obverse description | Red letterpress note on pale stock, with a central rectangular vignette bearing the numeral '10' within a decorative oval frame flanked by scrollwork branches, set against a fine guilloche underprint covering the main field. The issuer's name 'VILÁGÍTÁSI ÉS VÍZMŰ RÉSZVÉNYTÁRSASÁG' appears in bold capitals across the top, with 'TIZ KORONA' below it. Világítási és Vízmű Rt. — a gas lighting and waterworks company — issued this note during the acute small-change shortage that followed Hungary's post-war dislocation. Municipal utilities and private concessionaires across the country briefly became de facto currency issuers in 1920, filling a gap the National Bank could not. Székesfehérvár, an ancient royal city with a functioning urban infrastructure network, was among the more orderly examples of this phenomenon.
The Adamo MSZK catalogue entry confirms it as a locally produced emergency korona, redeemable against the issuing company's services.
