| Obverse description | At centre, a bold relief depiction of Saint George the Warrior mounted on horseback, thrusting a spear downward to slay a serpent beneath the horse's hooves. The circular legend БАНК РОССИИ (Bank of Russia) runs along the upper rim, interrupted by the figure of Saint George. Below the serpent, in the lower field, appears the year of mintage; at lower right, beneath the horse's foreleg, a mint mark in Cyrillic letters — М for the Moscow Mint or С-П for the Saint Petersburg Mint — identifies the producing facility. The design is executed in a crisp, medallic style consistent with the post-Soviet Russian coinage tradition. |
