Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Emperor Alexander II facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed curled hair. The portrait is set within a beaded inner border, with the Cyrillic imperial legend arranged around the periphery reading 'АЛЕКСАНДР ПЕРВЫЙ Б.М. ИМПЕРАТОР ВСЕРОС' (as visible on the coin image). Two small six-pointed stars flank the base of the portrait at the lower field. The overall style reflects the refined academic neoclassical portraiture characteristic of Saint Petersburg Mint pattern issues of the 1870s.
