Obverse description Central field bears the crowned imperial cypher of Alexander I — an elaborate interlaced Cyrillic monogram surmounted by a small imperial crown — flanked on either side by two crossed sceptres or fasces-like ornamental devices. The design is set within concentric milled rings that form a raised border, creating a pronounced cartouche effect typical of early 19th-century Russian pattern coinage. The monogram and flanking elements are rendered in high relief against a flat field. Below the cypher appears the Roman numeral I, identifying the sovereign as Alexander the First. No peripheral legend is present on this face.
