| Obverse description | The State Coat of Arms of the Soviet Union occupies the central field, depicting a hammer and sickle superimposed on a terrestrial globe, surrounded by wheat sheaves bound with ribbons and radiating sun rays at the base. Eleven ribbon bindings on the sheaves correspond to the eleven Soviet republics recognised at the time of issue. A five-pointed star surmounts the emblem. The Cyrillic abbreviation СССР (USSR) is inscribed in large characters along the lower portion of the field. |

| Reverse description | The denomination numeral '10' is prominently displayed in large figures within a recessed octagonal frame at the centre of the field. Below the numeral, the Cyrillic abbreviation КОП (KOPECKS) identifies the unit of value. Flanking the octagon on either side are stylised sprigs of oak and wheat, lending a decorative frame to the design. The four-digit date appears in the exergue below the central device. |
