| Reverse description | The reverse depicts a stylised fragment of the terrestrial globe rendered in relief, conveying a sense of global scope and interconnectedness. Positioned prominently above the globe is the emblem of the United Nations Organization. To the left, a Cyrillic inscription arcs through the field reading 60 РОКІВ ЧЛЕНСТВА УКРАЇНИ В ООН, commemorating the 60th anniversary of Ukraine's membership in the United Nations. The composition is boldly executed with a combination of polished and frosted surfaces characteristic of proof coinage. |

| Additional information |
Ukraine joined the United Nations on October 24, 1945 — notably as a founding member, despite not being a sovereign state at the time. The Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic was granted a separate UN seat as a political concession to Stalin, who had lobbied for all sixteen Soviet republics to receive individual membership. The 2005 coin marks the 60th anniversary of that peculiar diplomatic arrangement, commemorating an accession that predated actual Ukrainian independence by nearly half a century.
