Within a frame of an old-Rus ornament made in the form of an arched talisman of the 12th century, which represented the universe model among eastern Slavs, there is depicted the small National Emblem of Ukraine.

Against the background of an roll there is a three-view composition, consisted of the depiction of the Prince Kyi, figures of three brothers-riders and a woman (Kyi, Shchek, Khoryv and their sister Lybid) and a fortress upon the hill. There is a conventionalized legend on the coin: КИЙ (Kyi (above) and КНЯЖА УКРАЇНА (Princes of Ukraine) (underneath in two line).
