| Obverse description | The obverse features the shared compositional device common to the Ukrainian historical figures series, embodying the theme of a unified Ukraine. At center, the small national trident emblem (tryzub) is flanked by the emblematic figures of St. Michael the Archangel, symbol of Kyiv, and a crowned lion, symbol of Lviv, rendered in baroque style. The circular legend, divided by baroque foliate ornamentation, reads УКРАЇНА and 10 ГРИВЕНЬ, with the year 1999 also inscribed in the field. The fineness designation Ag 925 and the fine silver weight 31.1 appear within the design. |
