Reverse description The reverse presents a detailed maritime scene commemorating the Heroic Defence of Sevastopol during the Crimean War of 1854–1856. Two nineteenth-century sailing warships are depicted at sea, one to the left and one to the right, flanking a view of the Sevastopol waterfront with a domed building visible in the background amid billowing smoke. In the lower foreground, a large cast cannon with cannonballs and powder kegs is rendered in high relief, symbolising the city's artillery defences. A decorative ribbon banner at the top of the field bears the Cyrillic inscription СЕВАСТОПОЛЬ, while the curved legend ГЕРОЇЧНА ОБОРОНА 1854–1856 runs along the lower periphery of the field.
