Niedertalheim is a tiny Upper Austrian village, and this 10 Heller Notgeld is exactly the kind of hyperlocal emergency scrip that flooded Austria between 1919 and 1922 when small coins vanished from circulation entirely. The municipal council authorized these notes to cover everyday transactions that federal coinage could no longer handle. Alois Schick, who signed as Bürgermeister, was effectively running a one-village monetary operation with no banking infrastructure behind it.

The JPR0672b designation places this in the Jaksch/Pick Austrian Notgeld reference — the "b" variant distinction typically signals a printing difference, paper variation, or serial numbering change within the same issuing run.
