Obverse description Printed in brown on cream paper within an ornate scalloped guilloche border of fine lace-like patterning, the obverse carries the denomination numeral '10' in circular cartouches at the upper left and right corners, with the split date '19' and '20' flanking the curved central inscription 'Notgeld der'. The central vignette presents a rural agricultural scene of a farmer ploughing a field with two oxen against a rolling landscape with trees and a winding road, flanked by oval vignettes containing harvest tools with sheaves of grain at left and a flowering plant with garden implements at right. The issuer inscription 'Gemeinde Engerwitzdorf' runs along the lower margin in Gothic script.

Reverse description Printed in brown on cream paper, the reverse is set within a simple rectangular border of repeated small circular ornaments and carries the full legal redemption text of the notgeld issue in German Gothic (Fraktur) typeface, centered on the note. The denomination numeral '10' appears in plain rectangular boxes at the upper left and right corners, while the place and date of issue, 'Engerwitzdorf, 24. April 1920', is rendered in Roman type below the main text block, followed by three facsimile handwritten signatures of the Bürgermeister and two Vizebürgermeisters with their respective titles. A bold anti-counterfeiting warning in Gothic script runs along the bottom margin.
