| Reverse description | The reverse is printed in green on cream paper in a flowing Art Nouveau style, with an elaborate border of stylised floral and foliate motifs enclosing the entire composition. A central rectangular vignette presents a lakeside scene with a boat and Alpine mountain backdrop, characteristic of the Traunsee region. The denomination '10' appears twice in large stylised numerals flanking the vignette, with the word 'HEL-LER' split across the left and right panels, and the word 'ZEHN:' inscribed in Art Nouveau lettering along the lower margin; the printer's imprint appears at the foot. |

Ebensee's wartime salt and chemical industries made the town economically active well beyond its size, and the postwar coin shortage that drove Austrian communes to print their own Heller notes hit industrial communities like this particularly hard — workers needed small change for daily transactions that the central monetary system simply could not supply. The Salzkammergut-Druckerei in Gmunden served several of the lake district communes during this period, producing a cluster of related Notgeld issues across the region.
The JPR0143 series covers multiple denominations for Ebensee. This 10 Heller is among the lower values, which typically saw the heaviest actual use and survive in worse condition as a result.
