Notburga (Saint Notburga), the patron saint of Tyrol, rendered in a woodcut-style illustration and set on a decorative pedestal. Austrian municipal Notgeld of this period exists in enormous quantities, but the Wagner, Innsbruck printings for small Tyrolean communities occupy a recognizable regional subset — same press, same era, wildly varying survival rates depending on how aggressively individual municipalities redeemed their issues. Eben am Achensee is a small lakeside parish with a population then well under a thousand, which kept issue volumes modest.
The 1921 date places this in the second wave of Austrian communal emergency currency, after the immediate postwar chaos but still within the hyperinflationary spiral that made Heller-denomination notes briefly necessary before they became worthless.
