| Obverse description | Pink-toned notgeld printed in dark ink on cream stock, with a dotted border framing the entire design. The central vignette presents a detailed line-art view of the Haushaltungs-Schule Mistelbach O.-Ö., a large multi-storey building with a prominent spire, flanked by trees and a monument to the left. The heading 'Gutschein der Gemeinde' arches across the top, while the denomination '10 HELLER' and issuing authority 'BUCHKIRCHEN' appear in bold lettering along the lower margin. The printer's imprint 'E. PRIETZEL, STEYR' is noted at the lower right. |

| Reverse description | Printed in a warm rose-pink tone, the reverse carries a border of stylised wheat sheaves enclosing the main design field. To the left, a heraldic vignette labelled 'FIRMINISCHES WAPPEN' displays an elaborate coat of arms surmounted by an eagle. To the right, a rural scene shows a farmer ploughing with two oxen. The central text block states the municipal guarantee resolution of 22 April 1920 and the redemption deadline of 31 October 1920, above two manuscript signatures for the Vizebürgermeister and Bürgermeister respectively. The anti-counterfeiting legend 'Nachahmung wird bestraft.' appears along the lower margin. |

Buchkirchen is a small Upper Austrian municipality, and this 10 Heller note is a product of the Notgeld emergency that gripped Austria after the collapse of the Habsburg empire left local governments scrambling to cover a severe shortage of small-denomination coinage. E. Prietzel was a Steyr-based printer that produced a number of similar municipal issues for surrounding communities during this period — workmanlike output rather than the elaborately illustrated Notgeld being produced elsewhere for the collector trade.
The dual signatures of Bürgermeister Jungmayr and Vizebürgermeister Angermair were a legal formality required to validate the note as an official municipal obligation.
