Additional information

In 1968, Czechoslovakia's State Mint at Kremnica was developing a revised coinage series as part of broader economic administrative reforms under the Dubček government. Trial strikes in brass were produced to test die alignment, planchet behavior, and striking pressure before committing to a final alloy — this piece dates to that evaluation phase, which was abruptly disrupted by the Warsaw Pact invasion in August of that year. The reform program stalled entirely.

Few trial pieces from this specific 1968 series entered collector hands through official channels.
