Additional information

This issue belongs to the long normalisation period following the Soviet-led Warsaw Pact invasion of 1968, during which Czechoslovak economic and cultural life was systematically rolled back. The aluminum alloy composition — chosen for cost efficiency across the socialist bloc's small-denomination coinage — meant these circulated in enormous quantities with virtually no collector interest for decades.

KM#80 saw continuous production across three different general secretaries of the Communist Party and outlasted the entire Husák era.
