Obverse description Brown on white unpt. A standing allegorical woman with a lion at left form a classical vignette, with a portrait of the young Queen Wilhelmina at right. The note is framed by an intricate guilloche border with denomination numerals in each corner, and the full statutory inscription of the issuing authority runs vertically along the left margin.

Reverse description Brown on white. The central field is dominated by the large intaglio-printed denomination text "TIEN GULDEN" in bold serif lettering, with a serial number printed in blue below. The note is enclosed by an elaborate guilloche border with arabesques and interlaced scrollwork, and serial number cartouches appear in each corner.
