Reverse description A crowned, bearded bust of Clovis I, King of the Franks (466–511), facing three-quarters to the right, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. Superimposed in the lower left of the field are two gold-colored inlaid coin reproductions: the obverse and reverse of a Byzantine solidus of Emperor Anastasius I, referencing the historical coinage circulating during Clovis's reign. The inscription '466 - 511' appears in the upper left field and 'CLOVIS I' curves along the upper right periphery. A small engraver's mark is visible at lower right.
